What alpacas taught me
Last Sunday I organized `Clay with Alpacas Experience` and it gave me a rare opportunity to observe these furry animals. If I was to pick one predominant skill I particularly liked it would have to be – curiosity.
Alpacas, with their gentle demeanor, possess an innate curiosity about the world around them. Observing their behavior, I realized that curiosity isn’t just about seeking answers; it’s about cultivating a sense of wonder and openness to new experiences.

Alpacas investigate their surroundings with boundless enthusiasm, sniffing and nibbling at anything that sparks their interest. This eagerness to explore serves as a reminder to approach life with a similar sense of wonder and curiosity.
From the alpacas, I learned that curiosity is not confined to specific interests or pursuits. It’s a mindset—a willingness to ask questions, explore possibilities, and embrace the unknown. By adopting this mindset, we open ourselves up to a world of learning and growth.

Moreover, alpacas exhibit a remarkable resilience in the face of uncertainty. Despite their cautious nature, they approach new experiences with a sense of curiosity rather than fear. This resilience teaches us the importance of embracing challenges with an open mind and a willingness to learn from setbacks and failures.
Being curious is also to be free from pride and arrogance. Humility is central to curiosity as it tells us that we don’t know everything there is to know. Humble people recognize it. Humility and curiosity. That`s what I was reminded during three hours in alpaca field…. and that`s what I want to remember.
